Practicing Peace

Saturday, September 11                  12 – 4 pm              No Charge

In remembrance of this fateful anniversary, it is ever more important to find ways of cultivating and promoting peace in ourselves, our families, our nation and the world. Good intentions are important and necessary, but we also need a way we can practice peace in our everyday lives.  This program will present practical tools for practicing peace – ways that we can increase our mindfulness, our kindness and our compassion – characteristics essential for peace.
Guided practices for mindfulness, meditation, compassion and loving kindness will be introduced.  No experience necessary.  We will share poetry, mindful dialog and periods of silence. Registration required.

Journey of Integration: Spiritual Invitation for the Second Half of Life - Guilford Location

G.K. Chesterton states that the purpose of all journey is to come home.  The journey of integration calls us home to our deepest self, a journey to our spiritual center, to wholeness!   The second half of life is a time when we enter into that journey having reached a place where the outer world we have created leaves us with the question “Is that all there is?”   This journey calls us to leave the familiar, what we know, and search out the least developed sides of ourselves.   We invite you to join us for the journey!

In a series of 6 sessions, three in the fall and three in the spring, we will explore this invitation.

Session 1     Who are you now and where are you in the journey
Session 2     Where are you being called
Session 3     What do you take and what do you leave behind for the journey
Session 4  & 5   Deeping the call to wholeness
Session 6      Being at home in your truth – the journey continues!

December through February
During these months readings will be provided for your reflection.                                                            Opportunity to share with the group will be provided through e-mail.
