Dear Friends,
Catherine McAuley had a maxim “You must waste time with visitors”. What a great message and invitation as we look forward to our Gathering on Sunday June 25th. There has been a wonderful response and we are delighted by that. It has been too long since we were able to open wide the doors of Mercy by the Sea.
If you google “hospitality” you find many references to the food and hotel industry. At Mercy by the Sea, we strive to embody a hospitality that arises from the legacy of Catherine McAuley. Hers was a hospitality that knew no strangers and was paramount in her life and work. She believed that we meet God in those being welcomed, there is a sacredness in welcoming another. The host is blessed in some way by the guest. We so look forward to “wasting” some time with you here at Mercy by the Sea!
