About this offering

Mercy by the Sea invites individuals, organizations, and families to help celebrate World Labyrinth Day 2025, a time when thousands of people globally will “Walk as One at 1” for Peace. The intention for this international observance is to create a rolling wave of unified healing energy around the world.

For this year’s World Labyrinth Day, Mercy by the Sea has engaged Anne O’Connor and Natalie Villar, two Veriditas-certified labyrinth facilitators, to guide participants in moving meditations through the 7-circuit outdoor labyrinth and an indoor canvas walkable labyrinth. This experiential and contemplative program will support Mercy by the Sea’s “critical concerns” for Non-Violence and care for Earth.

Labyrinths are an ancient archetype dating back more than 4,000 years and belonging to many cultures and religions. A labyrinth is a single, circular path that leads to the center and back out on the same path. Labyrinths evoke metaphor, spiritual pilgrimage, psychological and spiritual transformation, mindfulness and community building. In today’s stress-filled world fraught with violence, unrest and heightened anxiety, walking the labyrinth in prayer, quietude or with music can relax the mind, body and spirit.
